The HO Ortner 5-Bay Rapid Discharge Hopper, USSX #1, is a detailed HO-scale freight car designed for realistic loading, unloading, and interchange on model railroads. This newly-tooled, high-fidelity hopper features an injection-molded body with a removable load and separately applied metal grab irons with end cages for a crisp prototype look. It also includes an etched stainless-steel brake wheel platform, detailed train brake line piping, and accurately scaled hopper door linkage with a reshaped weight to enhance the see-through detail.

Fully assembled and ready to run, it uses machined metal wheels with RP25 contours and body-mounted McHenry scale double-shelf knuckle couplers for dependable operation on HO track. Weighted for stable performance, it supports an 18-inch minimum-radius curve and is designed to perform well on a wide range of layouts.
