HO 50' ACF Combo Door Box Car (ATH-1344)

The HO 50' ACF Combo Door Box Car is designed to replicate the combination of 8’-0” Youngstown sliding and plug doors, originally built in the 1960s. This unique structure combines the functionality of a standard box car with a sliding door while providing a larger opening for accommodating larger loads. The plug doors create flush side walls, enhancing the internal cubic capacity. Many models are equipped with cushioned underframes, which are designed to protect loads effectively.

This model features an accurately detailed, injection-molded body that is fully assembled and ready to enhance any model railroad layout. It is built with separately applied side and end ladders, a brake wheel, and weighted for optimum performance. The car rolls on 33” machined metal wheels with RP25 contours, ensuring compatibility with popular brands of track. Additionally, it boasts body-mounted McHenry® operating scale knuckle couplers, and the design is finished with precise painting and printing for a prototypical appearance.

The model is designed to navigate a minimum radius of 18”, making it suitable for various layouts.
