HO BethGon Coalporter with Coal Load is an HO-scale freight car modeled after Bethlehem Steel’s BethGon coalporter, designed for realistic coal-haul scenes on model railroad layouts. The prototype’s tub-style design and rotary coupler on one end let a train be fed through a rotary unloader without uncoupling, making it ideal for authentic coal operations in unit trains and yard scenes.

This model combines high-grade detail with dependable operation: separately applied brake wheel, wireform grab irons, etched coupler platforms, a removable coal load, and 36" machined metal wheels with RP25 contours. It’s weighted for optimum performance, uses body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers, and features a highly detailed injection-molded body that’s painted and printed for realistic decoration. A minimum radius of 18 inches keeps it versatile on most HO layouts, and multiple road-number variations are available to suit different eras and schemes.
