HO SW1500 Locomotive with DCC & Sound Union Pacific #1011 (ATH29765)

Union Pacific HO SW1500 Locomotive with DCC & Sound, UP 1011, is an HO-scale diesel switcher designed to capture the UP workhorse in a compact four-axle silhouette. It features UP-specific details such as Flexicoil trucks, a firecracker antenna, a large fuel tank, MU hoses, frame-mounted handrails, a Nathan P-3 horn, and loop-style cut levers with footboards removed on both ends. Available in DCC-ready form or with onboard SoundTraxx Economi sound, the model delivers authentic engine noises, horn, and bell sounds and can be run on DC or DCC layouts depending on the version.

Beneath the shell lies a detailed injection-molded body and a smooth, quiet drivetrain driven by an improved five-pole can motor with flywheels and all-wheel drive with reliable electrical pickup. It rides on RP25 wheels and uses McHenry scale knuckle couplers (Kadee-compatible). Realistic touches include operating ground lights, a detailed cab interior, see-through radiator grille and cab windows, and separately applied wire grab irons with UP-specific hoses and silver glad hands. DCC-ready models use a 21-pin plug for easy DCC setup; sound-equipped versions include onboard DCC with SoundTraxx Economi sound and a single-cube speaker that works in both DC and DCC, with a CV chart included for adjustments. The prototype length is about 44 feet 8 inches, and the model is designed for an 18-inch minimum radius layout.
