Built around a heavy die-cast frame and a five-pole motor with precision flywheels for smooth, reliable operation, it offers solid pulling power with traction tires on two drivers. The locomotive features see-through cab windows, separately applied wire-form details, a smoke stack and a boiler-mounted bell, plus bi-directional LED headlight illumination. It rides on nickel-plated, blackened machined wheels with RP25 contours for dependable tracking and includes McHenry operating knuckle couplers and a DCC-ready 21-pin plug for easy digital control. Finished in realistic paint and detailing on a highly detailed injection-molded body, it is designed for HO layouts with a minimum 18" radius and a recommended 22" radius. Some sound-equipped variants include an onboard DCC decoder with SoundTraxx Econami sound for authentic steam audio on DC or DCC layouts, with CV-based tuning as needed.
