HO F89F Bi-Level Auto Rack Model (ATHG-1779)
This HO-scale F89F Bi-Level Auto Rack model reproduces a classic two-level auto carrier for HO layouts. It blends a die-cast underframe with a highly detailed injection-molded body, accurate paint and printing, and authentic brake plumbing. End bridge plates are included where applicable, and the model features separately-applied wire grab irons along with coupler lift bars, trainline hoses, brake hoses, and other hardware to capture the prototype’s look. Machined metal wheels with RP25 contours ensure smooth operation on most HO track.
Designed for realistic operation on standard HO layouts, the car sits at prototypical ride height and uses body-mounted scale McHenry double-shelf knuckle couplers. It rolls on 70-ton roller bearing trucks with animated rotating bearing caps and features authentic safety railing, era-specific train lines and cut levers, and a separately-applied hand brake. A minimum 22" radius is required, with 24" (or larger) generally recommended, ensuring reliable performance on typical layouts while delivering convincing, period-accurate detail.
