N GEN F89-F Flat Car ATSF #292120 (ATHG-2271)

An HO-scale Santa Fe F89-F flat car from the Genesis line, road number 292120, reproduces the classic 89' 8" Trailer Train era flatcar designed for carrying trailers and other intermodal loads. Based on field measurements and builder diagrams, this model captures era-appropriate details and loading versatility—from trailer-on-flatcar configurations to autorack service—and is decorated and fully assembled, ready to run out of the box for immediate use on intermodal or mixed-freight layouts spanning the 1960s to today.

Built with a die-cast body and heavy frame for stable tracking, the model features a detailed deck, separately applied wire grab irons and ladders, machined metal wheels with RP25 contours, and weight for smooth operation. It uses body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers for reliable connections on standard HO track. The XTTX version adds four hitches to accommodate different trailer lengths, with extra raised and collapsed hitches included for multiple configurations. On HO layouts, a minimum radius of 22 inches is recommended (24 inches or larger is preferred) to ensure trouble-free operation on curves.
