HO GP39-2u Locomotive with DCC and Sound, ATSF #3409 (ATHG66352)

HO-scale GP39-2u Locomotive with DCC and Sound in Santa Fe livery, number 3409. This model recreates Santa Fe's GP39-2 upgrades, featuring a Phase 1 body with corrugated grilles, illuminated swing-out number boards, a Stratolight beacon, and a rear-mounted fuel tank. The 3409 road-number variant adds a chickenwire grille body, Leslie 3-chime horn, and an equipment door behind the cab to mirror the prototype.

Powered by a Genesis driveline with a 5-pole motor for smooth, quiet operation on HO-track, it rides on a heavy die-cast frame with all-wheel drive and RP25 wheels for reliable traction. Details include see-through cab windows with a full cab interior, LED lighting, and fine-scale features like Celcon handrails and etched fan grilles. The locomotive is offered in a DCC-ready base and a sound-equipped version with a SoundTraxx Tsunami2 decoder and dual speakers; both run on DC or DCC and support full DCC functionality and MU lashups, with a CV chart included for customization. Prototyped from drawings and photos for accurate paint and lettering, it’s primed for grime weathering to mirror service life and is designed for minimum-radius 18" curves, with secure packaging for storage.
