Offering multiple phase variations, including Phase Ic (new in plastic) with or without lighted hood-side number boards, Phase III with positionable top hood hatches, and Phase IV, this model rides on a heavy die-cast chassis and fuel tank with two styles of fuel-tank skirting and separately-applied door latches for added realism. It features a full cab interior, photo-etched cab steps, and a smooth-running coreless motor with dual flywheels for reliable slow-speed performance. On the electronics front, the DC version is DCC-ready with a NEXT-18 decoder socket and room for a speaker, while the DCC-equipped version includes ESU decoders and sounds and includes a Mo-Power power capacitor.
